ABOUT KRISTINA NIKOLS

Los Angeles native and UCLA Honors graduate, Kristina Nikols is a Certified Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Holistic Health Coach, and Certified Yoga Teacher with a lifelong passion for healthy living and over a decade of professional experience in wellness.

REIKI
Certified in both Western and Japanese reiki styles, she traveled to Japan to deepen her spiritual and energy practices embarking on a pilgrimage visiting temples and shrines, including Mount Kurama - the birthplace of reiki.

Kristina provides reiki at Cancer Support Community, San Gabriel (voted Best of Pasadena 6 years in a row); has shared reiki at WeSpark in Sherman Oaks and Tower Cancer Research Foundation in Beverly Hills; as well as, for nurses at Huntington Medical Hospital, Pasadena. She provides both group and private sessions in person and online.

Kristina’s personal journey with reiki began when her father was diagnosed with cancer. That same month she had a random accident that left her out of work and in chronic pain. Seeking to help him in any way possible, she focused on researching holistic and nutritional remedies—exploring a multitude of modalities that eventually led her to reiki. She learned reiki to help him but discovered it helped both of them navigate through challenging times.

Reiki is the cornerstone of her practice and is often combined with meditation, health coaching, and yoga.

HEALTH COACHING
Kristina is certified at the oldest health coaching school, The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, founded in 1992, licensed by the New York State Department of Education and member of NCCRS with classes taught by a variety of instructors, including Dr. Andrew Weil (True Food Kitchen) and Dr. Mark Hyman.

In addition to assisting individuals in her private practice, she also works as a Well-Being Advisor helping school district employees, teachers, and administrators achieve a healthy work-life balance through stress management tools and techniques.

Kristina’s earliest memories of health awareness was at the age of 7 when she told her grandparents to “please use less salt.” Throughout her life she implemented wellness items she learned and happily shared with those who were interested. Kristina began to notice that many of her conversations were about well-being and that her friends would come to her for advice. After providing eczema tips to a stranger sitting beside her on a flight, she realized it was time to officially pivot and get certified to help others through a health coaching lens.

YOGA
Kristina fell in love with Vinyasa Yoga in her very first class over 20 years ago. A dancer and athlete in her youth, she felt at home with the continuity and flow of Vinyasa Yoga. She was amazed at the level of groundedness and clarity she felt after every class and enjoyed making yoga an integral part of her lifestyle and wellness routine.

Her yoga journey evolved to encompass many other styles and she studied with teachers from India at Akhanda Yoga and Siddhi Yoga. Her personal practices embrace pranayama, mantras, and meditation.

She has taught in studios across Los Angeles; including, Kids Yoga at Zooga Yoga in Culver City; The Yogi Tree in North Hollywood; and Greenheart Yoga in San Marino.
